This past weekend marked the first weekend of performances of Apassionata in the United States. Apassionata displays the bond between horses and humans. The show opened in Louisville, KY to meet the needs of the local horse enthusiasts and help kick off the Derby celebrations. As a horse enthusiast myself, I have actually seen three other shows with the same concept as Apassionata. Apassionata was one of the better shows that I have seen. I also really enjoyed Cavalia and would recommend that show to those who enjoyed Apassionata. It is apparent that Louisville enjoyed Apassionata as the show has extended their performances in Louisville and will have additional performances the weekend after Derby, May 11th through the 13th.

Apassionata combines the talents of the trainers and riders with the beauty found in the movement of horses. There are exhibitions ranging from individual pairs of horses and riders to teams performing routines together. The performances capture the bond between humans and horses through liberty exhibitions in which the horses perform and respond to the person without a saddle or bridle. Other performances display the technical prowess of the horse and rider pairs as they perform difficult dressage moves. The Apassionata Daredevils are indeed daring, but the trust they have in their horses is apparent as they perform the numerous tricks and Roman Riding routines. Apassionata The Beginning is a great show for children and horse enthusiasts as it truly captures the various ways that horses and humans can connect with each other: through trust, love, and friendship.
